Planted the herbs

I missed the no-sun-in-the-backyard-yet window yesterday, and remembered this morning just in time to get out and plant the herbs, and only had to wear my hat for half of it.

We're still not sure what exactly is wrong with my face, but Polymorphous Light Eruption comes closest to the breakouts I get from sun exposure, even from short drives in the car around town. I pray our kiddos don't develop it; no sign of it so far, knock on wood.

So the herbs have been planted, the drip hoses reset for good watering, and the rhubarb and catnip have perked up from yesterday's watering. I just have to remember to check on them frequently to water, once the rainy season has passed, which will probably be mid-June.

Now for some reflection and rememberance of those who have gone before us and gave their lives in defense of our country. Thank you and God bless in your rest.

Spring planting 5/29/2017

Our pitiful little garden in the arid west. The rhubarb is the only thing that came back, the strawberries didn't make it, so we'll have to get some new, maybe in a vertical planter. The catnip is happy growing in the grass off of the back patio, the kitties are happy that's coming back. So on Fri we picked up basil, Italian parsley, oregano, thyme, rosemary, peppermint, and lavender. Set them out where we'll plant them in the morning, and ran new drip hoses in the garden and around the lilacs. Progress! Hopefully no more snow surprises! #squarefootgardening #springplanting #brownthumb #pleasenomoresnow
